COMPANY BACKGROUND
Robertson Aviation, L.L.C. of Tempe, Arizona is a world leader in the design, development, and production of safe and reliable, crashworthy range extension fuel systems for aircraft, primarily helicopters. In the 1960's, Company founder and CEO, Dr. S. Harry Robertson led a team of researchers that pioneered the development of crashworthy fuel system design. Utilizing hundreds of tests, many of which were full-scale aircraft tests, system and component design details were developed and proven. Many of these concepts and components, including self-sealing breakaway valves, frangible fasteners, puncture and tear-resistant bladders and other components are in use today in United States military helicopters, as well as those of militaries of other countries. Today, the Company continues Dr. Robertson's basic research and has successfully implemented new applications that have enhanced the crash survivability of helicopter fuel systems.

EXPERIENCE
For over 25 years, Robertson Aviation has developed crashworthy extended range fuel systems. The "Products" section of this website describes some of the Company's extended range fuel systems that provide mission flexibility by:
* Dramatically increasing both range and endurance while retaining cabin/cargo space;
* Providing ballistic protection for military extended range fuel systems operating in hostile environments, and
* Providing forward area refueling capability to maximize military effectiveness.

QUALITY PRODUCTS
Robertson Aviation's fuel system designs undergo the most demanding tests to ensure that the end product is safe, dependable, maintainable and of the highest quality. Then, each system is manufactured and tested in accordance with Robertson's Quality System Manual that has been recognized by the United States Defense Logistics Agency as compliant with ISO 9001.
